Spotlight: Alzheimer’s Advocacy Week
For years, Westminster has proudly supported the Alzheimer’s Association, which provides care and support to the more than five million Americans with Alzheimer’s and their over 15 million caregivers. It is a cause that is close to our hearts at Westminster. In a record-breaking year, 2015, Westminster employees and residents raised over $30,000 for the cause.
Last week, Alzheimer’s advocates converged in our nation’s capital for the 2016 Alzheimer’s Association Advocacy Forum. Attendees celebrated recent historic public policy victories and lobbied elected officials for critically needed funding for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. We share the hope that this research will one day lead us to methods of prevention, treatment and, ultimately, a cure for the disease. The group is “answering one of the great calls of our time — that of a world without Alzheimer’s disease” (-2016 Chair Bob Marino).
We applaud the good work of this forum.
Together, we can end Alzheimer’s.
